Little Ones's 3 bucklings and 1 doeling born February 14:
Here is Little One with two of her bucklings. She is a good mom and is giving lots of creamy milk this year with her second freshening.
Tux, because it looks like he is wearing a tuxedo with spats
Checkers, because his back is a checkerboard of black, white and gray.
AnnaBelle, named by our neighbor in memory of her mother :). She has beautiful coloring ... solid light brown with a black stripe down her back. She has light brown around her eyes, symmetrically.
Mamma's 3 bucklings and 1 doeling born February 15:
This is our herd queen, Mamma. She is 4 years old and this is her third freshening. She had 6 goatlings last year. Just 4 this time.
Wally. Just like Mamma's firstborn last year, he came out breech and is mostly white. Look at that sweet bi-color nose!
Y, named for the white blaze that looks like the letter "Y". He is a big, active boy.
Racer, because of the racing stripe down his back. This little guy has stolen my heart. I haven't figured out how to keep him yet ...
Scamp, named by the family that will be her new home.
Bella's 1 buckling and 1 doeling born February 18:
Here is Bella with her first kids. She is a great mom. I have never known goats to be surrogate dams, but she is feeding Little One's AnnaBelle who has not learned to drink from a bottle. Her disposition has settled and matured with this experience. What a great goat she has become!
Her buckling Crazy is on the left. He was named by the neighborhood girl who has helped so much with the goats because he is crazy big ... he came out bigger than his 4 day old cousins.
This is Gertie, Bella's doeling, named by the family that will be her new home. She is a tiny girl who loves to be loved.
Brothers Checkers and Little Charly along with their cousins Wally and Crazy went to their new home in Burlington. They will be loved and pampered, maybe even more than if they had stayed with me. Thanks Jason and Lisa!
Tux and "Y" were a surprise gift to the mom at their new home in Mebane. Great gift!
Cousins Gertie and Scamp will be part of a ministry to inner city kids in Wake Forest. What a blessing. They are staying with us until their new home is ready. Thanks Tim, Amie and family!
THey are so sweet! Are you keeping AnnaBelle?
ReplyDeletewell ... yes and no. Our next door neighbor is keeping her, but she will live with us. :)
